Downey Chamber of Commerce – Media Release & Content Submission Terms

Effective date: 12/20/2025

By submitting content and/or an event request through Downey Chamber of Commerce (“Downey Chamber”, “we”, “us”), you agree to the terms below.

1) Permission to Use Submitted Content

You grant Downey Chamber a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, publish, display, distribute, edit, crop, resize, and create derivative works from the content you submit, including but not limited to:

  • Photos, videos, graphics, flyers, logos, and documents

  • Captions, descriptions, event details, and written copy

  • Business name and related identifying information

This permission applies to use on Downey Chamber platforms, including social media, website, email newsletters, digital displays, print materials, and promotional/educational content.

2) You Confirm You Have the Rights

You confirm that:

  • You own the content you submit or have legal permission to share it; and

  • Your submission does not violate any third-party rights (copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity rights).

Important: Do not submit content that includes copyrighted music, videos, or images you don’t have rights to use (including TikTok/Instagram audio, popular songs, or unlicensed stock images).

3) Consent of People Featured in Photos/Videos

If your submission includes people, you confirm that you have obtained any necessary permissions from those individuals to be featured and for this content to be used by Downey Chamber.

Minors (under 18): If a minor appears, you confirm you have written permission from the minor’s parent/legal guardian.

4) No Guarantee of Posting or Approval

Submitting content does not guarantee publication. Downey Chamber may approve, decline, or request edits at our discretion, including for reasons related to:

  • Quality/format requirements

  • Alignment with Chamber policies and community standards

  • Timing, scheduling, or limited capacity

  • Incomplete information or missing permissions

5) Editing, Formatting & Scheduling

We may adjust content to fit platform requirements, including:

  • Light edits (grammar, clarity, length, formatting)

  • Cropping/resizing for social platforms

  • Adding Chamber branding or tags/hashtags

  • Scheduling based on our content calendar

Posting timeframe: Please allow up to 3 business days for review and posting after approval (or longer during high-volume periods).

6) Event Submissions

If you submit an event application:

  • You confirm the event information is accurate (date/time/location/pricing).

  • You agree to notify us if event details change or if the event is canceled.

  • Downey Chamber may publish event details across our channels, at our discretion.

7) Prohibited Content

Do not submit content that includes:

  • Hate, harassment, discrimination, or explicit content

  • Misleading, false, or deceptive claims

  • Content promoting illegal activity

  • Adult content or graphic violence

  • Content that violates platform rules or local laws

8) Liability & Indemnification

You agree to hold Downey Chamber harmless from claims related to your submission, including copyright/trademark/privacy disputes, and you agree you are responsible for the content you submit.

9) Request to Remove Content

If you need to request removal of a post, you may contact us at:

We’ll review the request; removal is not guaranteed if the content has already been distributed (e.g., emails, printed materials), but we will do our best to accommodate reasonable requests.
